Algeria
Algeria is 2nd largest country of Africa and located in North Africa.
It is largest country on the Mediterranean Sea. The Country got
independence from France in 1962. The name of Algeria is consequent
from the city of Algiers. Today, Algeria's population is about in
millions. Algiers, Constantine, Oran, and Annaba are main cities
of Algeria.
Geography:
The Country Algeria has border of Mauritania, Mali and Libya in
the south, Mediterranean sea in the north. Morocco and Western Sahara
on the west side and Tunisia and Libya is in the east side.
Climate:
Algeria’s temperature is extremely high mainly in South zone.
The northern zone has heavy humitity while the coastal area are
comparatively cooler due to sea breezes. In Day time the temperatures
are high but during the night time temperatures drops down due to
the desert.
Summer temperature is between 21° C to 24° C
Winter temperature is between 10° C to 12° C
Travel and Tourism:
Algeria is a fascinating place to travel. It maintains many aspects
of the ancient tribal culture, modernization, and Arabic tradition.
Traveling around the Sahara by camel attracts the tourists towards
it.
Travelers get great challenge due to temperature issue. Temperature
also affects the air travels because of sand storms. Flights usually
delayed to their schedule time.
Society and Culture:
Algeria, 90% population followed Islam religion, mainly Algerian
are Muslims however there are other kind of nonbelievers are also
there which are not counted in statistics. Sunni Muslim are 99%,
Christian and Jewish are 1%. Christians are also available in minor
percentage. Due to beaing a muslim country Algeria’s biggest
festivals are celebrated by Islamique world. The most popular festival
is “Aidd al Fitr” which arrives after the month of “ramadhan”
in which the muslim people generally have on fast; and don’t
eat anything from the sun rise to the sun set. The 2nd festival
comes after "aid Al Fitr" is "Aid Al Adha",
and it is celebrated as a grand.
Football, athletics and hand ball are most popular sports of Algeria.
